The Power of Positive Self-talk: A Metaphor Within Our Mind.

“The path to love never refers to the external,” says Deepak Chopra amidst the jungle of the mind. In this fascinating territory, two peculiar characters intertwine: the strong monkey and the wise human.

The monkey, with its strength and agility, personifies the Monster of Insecurity. Often seeking safety and validation in interactions with others, it feels intimidated by those it considers stronger. But the human, with their inner wisdom, understands that true security comes from positive self-talk and recognizing the innate value within oneself.

As the human advances through the jungle, they share their wisdom with the monkey. “Dear monkey, strength lies in self-confidence and authenticity. You don’t need to compare yourself to anyone else, as you are unique and valuable just as you are.”

The monkey, surprised by the human’s wisdom, begins to question its limiting beliefs. Together, they traverse the dense vegetation of self-criticism, each step accompanied by courageous affirmations: “I am enough as I am. My strength resides in my authenticity and bravery.”

Together, they carve powerful affirmations on rocks: "I am capable of facing challenges. I am loved, I am valuable; I love and fully accept myself."

In the Desert of Limiting Beliefs, where the sun of insecurity threatens to weaken them, the monkey longs to find refuge in external approval. But the human, with serenity, points out that true security is nurtured through gratitude and valuing one’s own abilities and accomplishments.

In the lush meadow of self-discovery, the monkey marvels at flowers of authenticity and self-compassion blooming around them. The human encourages the monkey to express itself honestly and embrace the courage within. Together, they carve powerful affirmations on rocks: “I am capable of facing challenges. I am loved, I am valuable; I love and fully accept myself.”

Finally, they reach the River of Change, where the crystal-clear waters reflect their unity. The human, with affection, recognizes the monkey as an essential part of themselves. “You are a part of me, dear monkey, and together we will find security in the wisdom of self-love.”

In this journey through the jungle of the mind, the much stronger monkey has received the wisdom of this inner human, which will guide it towards a much more balanced and positive relationship with itself. This will not prevent fears and old thoughts from returning to the monkey, but they will be able to return each time with self-compassion to read the words carved in the rock: “I am capable of facing these challenges. I am loved, I am valuable; I love and fully accept myself.” This will make them try again, without guilt and with compassion.
